    The Kennesaw State University Foundation has inducted five new trustees and named Trent Turk, the founder and CEO of GeoSurvey, Ltd., as its newest board chair.

    Having started his own business at 21 years old, Kennesaw State Foundation trustee Dave Walens understands the importance of hard work and determination. “Entrepreneurship is close to my heart,” he said. “It’s been my life.”

    KSU donor endows scholarships to help those who help others

    Retired businessman Mike Hammond is showing his appreciation for the nursing profession, and Kennesaw State University students are the beneficiaries. Hammond is providing financial aid to students enrolled in both the Wellstar School of Nursing and KSU Journey Honors College, through the Henry Michael Hammond Scholarship Endowment that was established at the end of last year. The Forsyth County resident was inspired to donate to a university with a nursing school as a thank-you for the exceptional care he received from nurses – a number of whom were Kennesaw State graduates – while being treated for health issues.

    Department of Dance Receives Gift for Student Scholarships and Artistic Performances

    Kennesaw State University Department of Dance has received a donation of $541,000 from the Yunek family. The Eleo Pomare–Glenn Conner Dance Endowment will be used to begin the KSU Choreographic Residency Program to bring two nationally curated choreographers to the Department of Dance to create two world premieres, beginning next summer. The annual choreographic residency honors the late benefactors who were luminaries of the dance world.

    Scholarship Endowment Established in Honor of Late KSU Alumnus

    Nearly three years after John Boyko’s untimely passing, Allen Brooks and KSU’s Division of University Advancement have announced a $50,000 donation to establish the John Boyko Endowed Scholarship to honor his legacy.
